A Longtime Hub For Dry Bulk

Cotton to pet coke, Corpus Christi keeps dry bulk goods moving

Since the 1920s, cotton has been exported from Port Corpus Christi terminals, but it is by no means the only dry bulk commodity that regularly crosses the port’s docks.

From feedstock and wheat to ores, bauxite, coal and petroleum coke, dry bulk continues to be a staple sector of Port Corpus Christi activity.

The port’s grain elevator facility, operated by Archer Daniels Midland Co. Unit ADM/Growmark River Systems Inc., features 75 concrete silos, as well as four steel tanks, and boasts a storage capacity of 5 million bushels.

Like other dry bulk facilities at Port Corpus Christi, the grain elevator is served by vessel, rail and truck.
