Please join us on Thursday, April 9 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Stoney Creek Inn & Conference Center for this important lun- cheon, presented by Missouri Cancer Associates along with our Gold Sponsors Missouri Em- ployers Mutual and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Congressman Luetkemeyer will talk about his goals for our area and will share a little about his first days in office. Also, we are very pleased to announce that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will join us that day in recognizing At the regularly scheduled March meeting, the Chamber Board of Directors approved the recommen- dations of the Nomination Com- mittee for new Board members. The following individuals are nominated to serve a three-year term beginning in July 1, 2009: Rick Allio, Quaker Oats/Frito Lay Russ Duker, Mastertech Plumbing Congressman Luetkemeyer for his efforts in protecting our business interest in Washington D.C. “I am committed to promoting ideas that will help create jobs and expand opportunities in Columbia and throughout the 9th District during these tough economic times, and look forward to sharing those ideas with the Chamber,” Luetkemeyer said. “I plan to listen closely to the concerns and recom- mendations from our hard-working folks on the economic front lines and take their message on these critical issues to Washington D.C.” In addition to meeting with the Congressman, we will take this opportunity to recognize two of our very own members, Midway Elec- tric, Inc. and Tiger Turf of Mid Missouri, LLC, who have just been recognized with the Blue Ribbon Small Business Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. They were two of only 56 small businesses across the country to earn this prestigious award. Congratula- tions to these businesses! If any member is in- terested in running for a position on the Chamber Board of Direc- tors, they must submit a petition, signed by twenty current Cham- ber members, and a general ballot will be sent to the total Chamber membership. If no petition is received at the Chamber office by noon on April 10, 2009, then the nominated group will be confirmed at the April board meeting.  Business Line CHAMBER
