For her accomplishment, Miss Bell's artwork -"The Cello" -will be utilized in all of this year's posters and advertising for the Concert on the Green. Her winning entry received it's first permanent home on Wednesday, September 4th, as she was honored with having her poster hung in the yet to be opened St. Vincent's Hospital in Clay County. Not bad for a young student who had only been studying art for two years in high school under her art teacher, Carrie Keene. Miss Bell, a former Orange Park resident, is currently enrolled at Florida State College of Jacksonville as a freshman in the Art Department. She plans to use the scholarship she received at the Concert on the Green for "The Cello" to help defray the cost of tuition and materials. There was also good news for her former art teacher, Ms. Keene, who was given a $1,000 award that will be used for her future students creations of Advanced Placement Portfolios. Jeanna Louine, Ebony's proud mother, and an RN at St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital, was also on hand for her daughter's recognition. Hospital dignitaries who attended the ceremony included Virginia Hall, Director of Community Engagement; Blain Claypool, President of St. Vincent's Hospital; and Steve Howard, Chairman of Poster Creation for Concert on the Green.
