What a special honor to receive a 2011 Vision Award for doing something I love: spreading the good news about Memphis. Of course, I don’t do it alone. My dedicated staff works very hard to make every edition informative and relevant — and get it to the stands on time each and every month. It also wouldn’t be possible without Our loyal readers and advertisers who have supported us these past 20 years. Without you, none of this could happen. We are all very grateful to you. From the beginning, we’ve shared timely, captivating stories that support and promote the betterment of our community. What better way to do that than by spotlighting the performing arts in Memphis every September (pg. 12). Our annual Performing Arts edition is a yearlong keeper. We also visit Bennie Nelson West’s burning passion in an old firehouse (pg.8) and Dorothy Gunther Pugh’s unique treasure to Memphis (pg. 22). The city is known for its diversity, and Memphis’s performing arts scene provides something for everyone. Find your perfect performance, and enjoy the show! Jodie Vance Founder and Publisher
