Performing Saturday Afternoon at 4 pm at Pioneer Days October 27th is folk artist and Florida Native Chris Kahl. Chris sings a variety of Florida themed folk/county songs from his latest album Orange Blossom Memories. He travels the state as a Road Scholar with the Florida Humanities Council to bring his Florida songs and stories to audiences statewide. Hank Mattson, Cracker Cowboy Poet, will appear on stage at 3 pm on Sunday. He is a working Cracker Cowboy Poet who lives in Florida and has performed at cowboy poetry gatherings from Florida to Utah. The Historic Architectural Carriage Tour, which has delighted residents and visitors alike for many years, will continue this year for the 37th Annual Pioneer Days which will take place this year on October 27th and 28th. The tours will begin and end at the western end of Lake Wailes, and encompass a circular tour of more than 50 historic homes and buildings. The tour is sponsored by Citizens Bank and Trust, and will be provided by the Florida Flywheelers. Tours will run on Saturday from 10am – 5pm and Sunday from 11am –4pm and are www.briansoutdoorworld.com free of charge. On Saturday, October 28th, 2012, join us around the shores of Lake Wailes as the 37th Annual Pioneer Days revs up for the Antique Car Parade & Show. Sponsored by the Lake Wales Depot Museum and The Historic Lake Wales Society, the parade will begin at 12:00 noon as the antique automobiles and tractors travel through the downtown streets, on First Street from Seminole Avenue to Stuart Avenue and on Stuart Avenue from First Street to Third Street, on their way to the Pioneer Days Festival at Lake Wailes Lake. The Historic Lake Wales Society sponsors lunch and commemorative gifts for the drivers. There will be over 50 antique cars on display for the public at Crystal Lake FURNITURE & ACCESSORIES Park adjacent to the Pioneer “New & Used” Days Festival grounds until 123 E.
