Dr . r ober t Jeffres s This coming Sunday morning, April 8, is Easter Sunday. I invite you to celebrate with us the most important event in human history: The Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. We will hear thrilling music celebrating Christ’s victory over death, and I will present a special message about why Easter matters. If you have a friend or family member who does not have a church home, Easter Sunday is a perfect day to invite them to attend First Baptist Dallas. I hope you are praying about someone to invite to hear Ravi Zacharias on Sunday, April 15. Ravi is one of the most articulate defenders of the Christian faith in the world today. For forty years Ravi has spoken all over the world and in numerous universities, including Harvard, Princeton, and Oxford. As the 2008 honorary chairman of the National Day of Prayer, Ravi Zacharias gave addresses at the White House and the Pentagon. He has been a visiting scholar at Cambridge University and holds three doctrinal degrees. Currently, Ravi is Senior Research Fellow at Oxford University. If you have an unsaved or unchurched friend who has real questions about the Christian faith, this would be a perfect opportunity to invite them to hear this clear presentation of the Gospel. If you have a friend or family member who does not have a church home, Easter Sunday is a perfect day to invite them to attend First Baptist Dallas. Sunday, April 29, is a day you will not want to miss at First Baptist Dallas. We will be opening our new parking garage, which is attached to the new Andy and Joan Horner Family Center. At the end of our 10:50am worship service, we will bury a time capsule in front of our new worship center that will be opened on July 30, 2068, which will be the 200th anniversary of First Baptist Dallas. On Sunday, April 29, you will have an opportunity in the worship service that day to write a message to future generations of our church membership that will be included in the time capsule. Additionally, during all of our morning worship services we will show a video about the progress of our construction project, including the unveiling of the specific theming plans for our children’s and preschool areas. Every parent and grandparent in our church will be thrilled by what our Planning and Development Committee has planned for this very important area of our new campus. Don’t miss Sunday, April 29! As we approach the end of the second year of our For Generations To Come pledge campaign, I am asking you to prayerfully examine your original pledge to this project and where you are in fulfilling that pledge. Since we are two-thirds through with the pledging period, you may want to consider whether you have completed giving two-thirds of your pledge. Sunday, April 29, would be a perfect day for you to bring a gift for our new campus. I am so grateful to many of you who have already completed your pledges but are continuing to give to this important project. Let’s make Sunday, April 29, a glorious day for First Baptist Dallas! I will look forward to seeing you this coming Sunday as we worship our risen Savior! pathway to victory comments I just “happened” to wake up about 4:30am today, turned on KLCV, and heard Dr. Jeffress for the first time. I have been trying to convince people for some time that having a peaceable nation starts with our submitting to the Lord -that to have good leaders and a good nation, we must have Godly leaders at all levels. God alone makes those leaders -not us. Our wisdom is limited but not His. We as a nation must “Get back to God”. Either that or it’s game over. How can the Creator be any less real than His creation? I intend to send today’s (1/5/2012) mp3 to an atheist friend because he’s all for separation of church and state with the wrong meaning. -Steve Sims, Johnson, Nebraska Dr. robert Jeffress, Pastor
