Don, a self-taught artist, is part of an extended family of artists. His painting career began in the late “70’s” while a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His pas-sion for painting continued, but due to occupational responsibilities his person-al interest had to be set aside for 40 years until his retirement and at that time he was able to pursue his passion for painting full-time. Feeling the need to develop better techniques and skills he enrolled in workshops, private lessons with Jerry Yarnell and consulted with his cousin, renowned artist of 60 years, Charles Rhinehart and his wife Lavetta. These individuals were instrumental in creat-ing his current style of painting land-scapes and still life. Don Henderson’s Atrium Art is mar-keted at various art shows which include Edmond, Oklahoma, Bella Vista, Arkansas, Longview, Fredericksburg, Keller, Grapevine and Southland Texas; plus St. Charles and Springfield Missouri. Atrium Art offers high quality prints on canvas (giclées) or matted prints on paper. They can be framed or unframed and are available in various sizes. These prints start with the highest quality photography, (a transparency is needed for reproduction). Original art pieces are most often acrylic, but oil, watercolor and mixed media (acrylic and watercolor) are also used depending on the subject of the painting. Every artist is inspired by and through their subject matter. The satis-faction of seeing an image develop from a glob of paint is impossible to describe. For more than five decades, Don Henderson has been able to travel to many parts of the world and the best way to show those who view his pic-tures the beauty of all these locations is by painting the Scenes of the World. Commissions are available. Don would like an opportunity to recreate your family home, farm or your retire-ment home or cabin. These pictures are great items to pass on to your family. To view the beautiful Atrium Art by Don Henderson be sure to stop by his booth at the Downtown Edmond Arts Festival.
