Dr . r ober t Jeffres s This coming Sunday morning, May 6, we will continue our series in Colossians with a message titled “Victory Over the Worry Wars.” We will discover the secrets to experiencing God’s peace in our everyday lives. During the evening service, our children’s choirs will present their annual spring musical. Wiggle Worship (preschool choir) will present, “A Song in My Heart” and Kids Choir, “Jonah’s Druthers.” Wasn’t last Sunday great? Thank you for your generosity in continuing to give to our For Generations To Come building fund. This Sunday morning we will announce the total that has been given to date. Fulfilling our pledges is vital if we are to enter our new campus debt-free next Easter. Because many of you have given ahead of schedule or beyond your original pledge, we have been able to build everything you see to date without borrowing one dollar from the bank! I want to encourage you to take advantage of parking in our new Horner parking garage that opened last week. Parking in this new facility on Sundays will allow you to exit more quickly than you can from either the Ross Avenue parking garage or the Spurgeon-Harris parking garage. Also, you will enjoy using this new facility for weekday parking. I also want to encourage you to go to our website at firstdallas.org to view the latest pictures of the interior of our new worship center. To God be the glory for the great things He is doing! We are happy to have Barry Ford as our new Minister to Young Marrieds and Uptown/Downtown Minister. Barry comes to us after having served for the last fifteen years at an area church. Barry, his wife Ellen, and their two children Jake and Emma are an answer to our prayers as we seek to reach thousands of young adults in our city. I was encouraged in looking at the report of our Sunday School attendance for the first quarter of 2012 compared to the first quarter of last year. I’m happy to report that our preschool area is up 9.2%, our children have had an increase of 7.9%, our high school ministry is up 13.3%, single adult area is up 19%, and our median adults have increased 12.5%. Our total Sunday School attendance is up 6% compared to the same quarter last year. Thank you, Sunday School workers, for your hard work as we fulfill our mission mandate to “make disciples.” I’ll look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we worship our Lord together. Thank you for your generosity in continuing to give to our For Generations To Come building fund. Dr. robert Jeffress, Pastor
