EM NARI Newsletter January 2011 : Page 3Letter from the President Gary Morrison, CR And then there is member-ship. We need to constantly increase our numbers. Sound familiar? Just like our busi-nesses. Finding good programs and improving our education offerings are just two of the opportunities we have to help increase our membership. As you can see, these goals are quite related. Making gains in any one of these areas actu-ally contributes to the success of the others. They are self-fueling. If we become better known to homeowners, then more people will want to join. When more people join our chapter, we get more expo-sure. Becoming known for professionalism and ethics in the lead paint area will help to brand us with the homeowner and then more members will want to join. When we make progress in these areas, we all win. I am very excited to be serving you and our industry for the next year. I fully expect it to be a successful one. As always, you can reach me for comment or suggestions at gary@morrisonremodeling.com. -Gary Morrison, CR As my first official act as the President of our Chapter, I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. (Hmmm, that was easy). I don’t expect the rest of the year to come this easily, but I do have expectations. Every president has their agen-da, and I am no different. I have a number of goals. We need to do more to make EM-NARI a household name. I rarely find a homeowner who knows what NARI is. Educating homeowners is a job that is just beginning. Our new web-site is a step in the right direc-tion, but we need to do more. The new lead paint law is another area that needs our continued attention. Shawn McCadden and Mark Paskell are doing a great job leading that effort. I hope to do more to help in this area. I want to try to bring the issue out more publicly, using my position as a way to get our name in the media.
