This year, the dynamic trio has returned with the “Toolbox for Education” program, an effort designed to support SkillsUSA auto-motive service technology students. At the program’s recent kickoff in Atlanta, Johnson and Lowe’s repre-sentatives met with students from Jonesboro (Ga.) High School at a local Lowe’s store. A shopping spree ensued, and students emerged with $1,100 worth of Kobalt tools (and priceless smiles) to use in their class. The tool set was the first of 400 that will be presented to SkillsUSA chapters nationwide, an estimated $440,000 donation. “We are supply-ing students with the equipment they need to succeed,” Johnson said. “The work they are doing is important. SkillsUSA is a fantastic organization, and I’m glad to be part of it.” For more, as well as video coverage, visit: www.skillsusa.org/blog/?p=851 . • Taking SkillsUSA to graduation and beyond Johnson takes SkillsUSA students on a Lowe’s shopping spree. f you’re a high-school senior, graduation is almost within your grasp.
