This exhibition will be broadcast on the Student Life television. Student Life Lounge Wednesday, February 15, 2012 Black Americans in History and Culture Presentation Cinematic Perspectives Highlighting Black American culture, history, art, language and dance through film. 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Student Life Lounge A showcase of pictures of Black Americans will be exhibited along with music and short biographies highlighting the subjects ’ contributions to the American nation. Snacks will be provided. Rooms 1119 and 1120 12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 Wednesday, February 8, 2012 Distinguished Speaker & Lecture Series: Black Men in America Kick-Off Celebration African Dance & Drum Educational Presentation Educational presentation and performance with ensemble showcasing culture through the traditions of West African dancing, live drumming, music, singing and history in vibrant traditional garments and costumes along with audience participation. Join us for an educational, artistic and entertaining display of African Dance and Drum presented by Delou Africa. Delou Africa is committed to preserving the richness of African traditions by educating communities through cultural artistic expressions of dance, drum and music. Lunch will be provided. Rooms 1119 and 1120 12:30 p.m. A presentation on Black American men in the United States through art and poetry. Snacks will be provided.
